Biographical Sketch of Pastor Jerome M. Hurst
Pastor Jerome M. Hurst was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. He is a graduate of Oakwood University, located in Huntsville, AL. His service to the Seventh-day Adventist Church spans over 30 years. He has served in various capacities including Educator, Pastor, and Administrator. Currently he is the Senior Pastor of the Ethnan Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church, located in Wilkinsburg, PA. He also serves as the Director of Community Service and Public Affairs/Religious Liberty for the Allegheny West Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
As a Social Justice Activist Pastor Hurst promotes community advancement, voter empowerment, and addresses health disparities and infant mortality. He serves as an 1st Vice President of NAACP, Cleveland Branch; Executive Director of ConnectClev, Treasurer of United Pastors In Mission, and Executive Committee Member of the Allegheny West Conference and North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. As a result of his civic engagement Pastor Hurst was selected as a 2017 Stokes Civic Leadership Institute Fellow. In April of 2018 he was inducted into the distinguished Morehouse College Martin Luther King Jr. College of Ministers and Laity Board of Preachers.
Pastor Hurst is married to Dr. Carolyn Henry-Hurst, founder of Going GodWard Ministries. They are the proud parents of three daughters and five wonderful grandchildren.
